How many people are in your team and which disciplines are represented?
For the moment we are 9 master students, 1 PhD and 2 coordinators
We are micro-engineers, bioengineers, chemists and material scientists
What is your main motivation for joining SensUs?
To solve real world problems and to create devices that have meaning and purpose.
To work in interdisciplinary groups because this is where true innovation and new ideas come.
To prototype, to experiment and to learn by doing.
What do you hope to learn while participating in SensUs?
How to create a sensing device from scratch, looking both into biochemistry aspects of molecule detection to electronics and optics of signal detection and data processing all the way to electronics and making of the device itself.
How to work in interdisciplinary team.
How to integrate market analysis and user experience in the product development.
How to search for funding and sponsors but also communicate and sell a product.
What are the key aspects when developing a real-life and concrete advanced engineering project.
What do you hope to achieve in SensUs 2017?
We hope to create an original device that is small in size and simple in use and yet capable of fast detection as required by the competition standards.
We also hope to create a SensUs community that will facilitate the creation of future teams. We hope to connect professors working on different topics related to sensing to contribute with their knowledge.
What would be the ultimate goal for you as a team/when will you feel like you have succeeded?
We hope to create an original device that is small in size, cheap, simple in use and yet capable of accurate and fast detection as required by the competition standards.
