Jeroen Lammertyn founded the Biosensors group at KU Leuven in 2005 which has since then closely followed the emerging field of food and medical diagnostics. He is co-inventor of 12 patent applications, founder of the spin-off company FOx biosystems, and (co-)author of >300 peer reviewed research papers, conference papers, and book chapters focusing on bio-assay development, DNA nanotechnology, optical biosensors, and microfluidics.
Seppe Driesen obtained his master in Bioscience Engineering (Bionanotechnology) from KU Leuven in 2019. He is currently active as a PhD student in the Biosensors group in the division Mechatronics, Biostatistics and Sensors (MeBioS) of the Biosystems department at KU Leuven, focusing on the development of innovative biosensors using DNA nanotechnology.
Wannes Verbist obtained his master in Bioscience Engineering (Bionanotechnology) from KU Leuven in 2020 and is currently active as a PhD student in the Biosensors group in the division Mechatronics, Biostatistics and Sensors (MeBioS) of the Biosystems department at KU Leuven. His research focusses on the development of innovative microfluidic solutions for vaccine delivery and self-administration.
Simão Santos obtained his master in Bioelectronics, Biosensors and Medical imaging from University of Minho in 2019 and is currently active as a PhD student in the Biosensors group in the division Mechatronics, Biostatistics and Sensors (MeBioS) of the Biosystems department at KU Leuven. His research focuses on developing innovative microfluidic solutions for in ovo sexing.
Aurélie Mohrbacher obtained her master in Bioscience Engineering (Human Health Engineering) from KU Leuven in 2021 and is currently active as a PhD student in the Biosensors group in the division Mechatronics, Biostatistics and Sensors (MeBioS) of the Biosystems department at KU Leuven. Her research is focused on the development of innovative microfluidic strategies to enable single-cell proteomics.
