NephroCat

Hello everyone! We are NephroCat, a team from Barcelona, representing both the University of Barcelona (UB) and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) in the SensUs competition. 

Our multidisciplinary team includes eight undergraduate and master’s students from various STEM disciplines—ranging from biomedical and chemical to electronic, and mechanical. What brings us together is our shared passion for biomedical engineering and our commitment to contributing to healthcare innovation and development. 

Our main goal is to design a cutting-edge biosensor for real-time kidney function monitoring. The biosensor we are developing focuses on three core principles: accuracy, affordability, and accessibility. 

Beyond the technical challenge, we aim to create lasting connections with passionate students while enjoying the process and learning along the way. As engineers, researchers, and health enthusiasts, we’re driven to make a difference. We are NephroCat—where science meets passion for a healthier future!
